French Jeffrey, 72, farmer residing north of Yountsville, died at 11:55 a.m. Thursday at Culver Hospital following a two-week illness. He formerly was in the grocery business. Born Dec. 2, 1890, at Shannondale, Mr. Jeffrey was the son of William and Mary Ann Jeffrey. He was married Dec. 8, 1908 to Grace G. Shryer, who died March 28, 1963. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Francis (Babe) Hoffa of Crawfordsville; a brother, Sherman Jeffrey of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Grizzle and Mrs. Alice Howard, both of Martinsville; a granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home in charge of Rev. John Servies. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Friday. -- typed by kbz
